On December 30, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced the 2024 list of newly cultivated green manufacturing entities, including green factories, green industrial parks, and green supply chain management enterprises. Qidu Pharma was selected for the national-level green factory list.  

Qidu Pharma has actively responded to the national call to promote the green manufacturing system, accelerate the transformation and development of the manufacturing industry, and achieve carbon peak and neutrality goals. The company was recognized as a municipal-level green factory in 2021 and a provincial-level green factory in 2022, and it initiated the creation of a national-level green factory in 2023. In December 2024, after undergoing application submission, third-party evaluation, assessment and confirmation by provincial industrial and information technology authorities, and final review and approval by MIIT, the company was deemed to have well-developed infrastructure, a sound management system, and high levels of green performance in energy and resource inputs, production processes, products, and environmental emissions. All indicators met or exceeded excellent benchmark levels, fulfilling the requirements for green factory evaluation.  

Qidu Pharma takes it as its mission to lead the green and intelligent upgrading of pharmaceutical manufacturing. The company continuously optimizes process design, introduces advanced equipment, and improves management levels in project construction, production processes, and energy utilization to advance its green manufacturing capabilities to new heights.  

1. Intensive Land Use: New projects adopt three-dimensional layouts to maximize land savings, with a building density of 48%, exceeding the requirement of >30% in the Industrial Land Use Control Indicators.  

2. Non-Toxic Raw Materials: Pioneered a green enzymatic synthesis process for levocarnitine API in China, completely resolving the high-risk and high-pollution challenges in its production, breaking technological monopolies, and filling domestic gaps. Bulk raw materials are used as finished products without secondary refinement, minimizing environmental impact, with waste emission indicators surpassing industry standards.  

3. Low-Carbon Production: Production workshops achieve a material balance rate of over 98%, cooling water recycling rate of 99.94%, and carbon emissions ranking in the top 20% of the industry. The annual 1-billion-bottle/bag new infusion project achieves a comprehensive energy-saving rate of over 30%, saving 6,000 tons of steam, 75,000 tons of raw water, and 3.55 million kWh of electricity annually, while reducing CO2 emissions by 9,400 tons, setting a new benchmark for green and low-carbon high-quality development in the pharmaceutical industry.  

4. Waste Resource Utilization: Workshop tailings are collected for aerobic bacteria cultivation in wastewater treatment facilities, while waste plastics and activated carbon generated during production are recycled and reused, enabling circular development.  

5. Green Development: Invested over 50 million yuan to upgrade VOCs waste gas treatment facilities, expand wastewater treatment systems, and renovate stormwater-sewage diversion systems. Solar energy powers all outdoor lighting, workshops utilize open designs to maximize natural light, and traditional boilers have been replaced with centralized municipal steam supply, reducing annual emissions of soot by 2 tons, sulfur dioxide by 7.78 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 26.66 tons.  

The company will leverage its recognition as a national-level green factory to continue adhering to high-quality sustainable development principles, implement energy-saving, consumption-reducing, and emission-cutting plans, and drive new breakthroughs in green and low-carbon development, contributing further to the pharmaceutical industry's upgrading and the building of a manufacturing powerhouse.
