Recently, Qidu Pharma's self-developed high-end irrigation solution specifically for craniocerebral and spinal surgeries - Compound Glucose/Electrolyte Craniocerebral Surgery Irrigation Solution (brand: Luweiheng™), has officially received marketing approval from the National Medical Products Administration. The product approval number is Guo Yao Zhun Zi H20253724, with specifications of 500ml, packaged in a dual-chamber bag with external barrier bag using three-layer co-extruded infusion material. Registered as Category 3 chemical drug, it is recognized as having passed the generic drug quality and efficacy consistency evaluation. This product represents China's first generic version of high-end irrigation solution for craniocerebral and spinal surgeries, and also marks Qidu Pharma's first approved multi-chamber bag product.
The Compound Glucose/Electrolyte Craniocerebral Surgery Irrigation Solution was originally developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and launched in Japan in May 2008. It is used for washing during skull drilling, craniotomy, spinal disease surgeries and perfusion in neuroendoscopic procedures, becoming the clinically preferred irrigation solution with enormous market potential. Qidu Pharma initiated research on this product in July 2021.
Luweiheng™ effectively removes impurities during surgery, maintaining clear surgical field and ensuring precise and safe operations. Its composition, pH value and osmotic pressure closely resemble human cerebrospinal fluid's physiological parameters, maintaining physiological osmotic balance at irrigation and perfusion sites, stabilizing surgical environment and reducing secondary injuries. The glucose and inorganic ions in the formulation promote normal metabolism, improve cerebral microenvironment, accelerate tissue repair and enhance patient prognosis. The product adopts a triple-protection technology of "dual barrier + dual-chamber bag + color-changing indicator packaging". The outer high-barrier bag over the dual-chamber bag provides dual protection, while weak-seal technology ensures precise separation between chambers. The color-changing indicator enables real-time monitoring, reduces misuse risk, ensures stable preservation of the key ingredient sodium bicarbonate, and enhances usage safety.
Luweiheng™ will join Qidu's basic infusion products, Qi e Chong®-Sodium Chloride Solution, Sugeheng®-Sodium Bicarbonate Ringer's Injection, Qiheng®-Compound Sodium Acetate Ringer's Injection, and Luheng®-Sodium Lactate Ringer's Injection to provide more comprehensive and higher-quality choices in electrolyte products for clinical treatment, making greater contributions to safeguarding people's life and health.
