On April 28, a grand ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and to honor national model workers and outstanding contributors. President Xi Jinping attended the event and delivered an important speech, while Premier Li Qiang presided over the meeting. Cai Qi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Secretariat, announced the commendation decisions, and Wang Dongming, Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee and Chairman of the ACFTU, delivered remarks. The ceremony recognized 1,670 national model workers and 756 outstanding contributors, including Zheng Jiaqing, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Qidu Pharma Group.

In his address, President Xi emphasized the historical significance of the working class, the trade union movement, union work, and reforms in the development of the industrial workforce. He elaborated on the core values of the "model worker spirit, labor spirit, and craftsman spirit," urging trade unions at all levels to fully implement the CPC Central Committee’s decisions, advance high-quality union work, and prioritize workers’ welfare and comprehensive development. Model workers and contributors were encouraged to cherish their honors, maintain their integrity, and strive for further achievements.

Zheng Jiaqing has dedicated nearly 40 years to his career, including 28 years as a top corporate leader. Starting from the grassroots level, he rose through the ranks from technician to workshop director, deputy factory manager, and eventually factory manager. This journey equipped him with extensive practical experience, forming the cornerstone of his managerial expertise and decision-making confidence. Committed to his work, Zheng spent decades in production and technical roles, adhering to a disciplined routine between home and factory. His approach emphasized quality, efficiency, diligence, and professionalism. With a philosophy of "devoting a lifetime to one mission," his sense of responsibility, passion, and perseverance left no room for hesitation or rest. Through persistent dedication, he repeatedly overcame challenges, evolving from an ordinary technician to an expert-level professional and an outstanding entrepreneur.

Zheng Jiaqing, upon being honored as a National Model Worker, expressed in an interview with reporters:"As the head of a local private enterprise, receiving such a high honor as the National Model Worker fills me with immense pride and a deep sense of responsibility. This achievement is owed to the nurturing and guidance of the Party, the strong support of society, and the long-term collective efforts of all our employees." He mentioned that listening to the General Secretary's important speech at the commendation ceremony gave him a renewed understanding of the spirit of model workers, labor, and craftsmanship, as well as fresh insights into trade union work, the labor movement, and the development and reform of industrial workers. It also provided new direction for the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, the growth of emerging industries, and the forward-looking planning of future industries." The General Secretary's speech was profoundly inspiring and greatly encouraging," he said. Following the conference, he pledged to promptly convey its spirit and the General Secretary's instructions to every employee and manager in the company. He emphasized the need to further invigorate morale, work diligently, and drive innovation to enhance corporate management and development, continuously contributing to the nation's economic and social progress.
