October 13, 2026

On September 23, Qidu Pharmaceutical held a postdoctoral completion and entry ceremony and a project report meeting. The meeting was chaired by Hongxiang Lou, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shandong University. Jiwei Cui, Professor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Shandong University; Jiankang Zhu, Director of the General Surgery Center and Director of the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University; and Xueqiang Fang, Director of the Science and Education Department at Shandong Maternal and Child Health Hospital, were invited to attend as review experts. Jiaqing Zheng, Party Secretary of the Company, attended and delivered a speech. Company leaders Jianyong Zhang, Xu Dong, and Xiangnan Zheng, as well as relevant personnel from the Research Institute, attended the report meeting.

Lingyi Chi and Pengju Zhu, as representatives of postdoctoral fellows completing their programs, presented final reports titled Basic and Clinical Research on the Neuroprotective Effects of Artificial Cerebrospinal Fluid and Mechanistic Study of Tianchuan Granules in Improving Acute Myocardial Infarction by Regulating the PI3K/AKT Signaling Pathway through TNC respectively. Xiuyun li, as the representative of postdoctoral fellow entering the program, presented a proposal report titled Mechanistic Study of the Sugar Transporter Cst1-Mediated Anti-Candida auris Effect of Sanguinarine. The expert panel commented on each report and unanimously agreed that the completion reports were of high overall quality, their topics and project initiation were closely integrated with the Qidu’s actual projects, and the project outcomes had been successfully translated into the company’s marketed products. The newly initiated projects have innovative topics, their research directions are closely aligned with the company’s development needs, and their follow-up outcomes have the potential for translation and implementation. After deliberation, the expert panel approved the completion and entry of the relevant postdoctoral fellows.

Hongxiang Lou, as chair of the expert panel, put forward four suggestions for postdoctoral work. First, postdoctoral research should be grounded in Qidu’s actual conditions and reflect the company’s characteristics in topic selection, proposal development, and the research process. Second, the postdoctoral research workstation should fully play its role as a bridge and link, deepen the connection between Qidu Pharma and postdoctoral fellows, build and make good use of research platforms, and promote the coordinated development of project research, personal growth, and corporate R&D. Third, all R&D personnel should be adept at drawing ideas and inspiration from academic reports and keenly capturing product-related information. Fourth, a standardized report meeting system should be established, with a meeting held every quarter to discuss and exchange views on the feasibility of project initiation, strengthen communication and collaboration, and promote the output of scientific research results.

Jiaqing Zheng welcomed the review experts and congratulated the postdoctoral fellows who had successfully completed or entered the program. He noted that the completion reports were high in both academic and applied quality, elevating the overall quality of postdoctoral completion reports to a new level and setting a benchmark for future postdoctoral work. He expressed his gratitude to postdoctoral fellows from successive cohorts at Qidu Pharma Postdoctoral Research Workstation for their contributions to enhancing the company’s R&D capabilities and talent development during their project research. He also put forward opinions and requirements regarding the development of the postdoctoral workstation and scientific research: First, improve the communication and follow-up mechanisms with postdoctoral fellows after program completion; second, attach importance to topic selection and research quality of newly entered postdoctoral fellows; and third, strengthen the development and improvement of the postdoctoral research workstation itself.

After the report meeting, an academic advisor appointment ceremony was held. Jiaqing Zheng presented letters of appointment as academic advisors to four postdoctoral fellows who had completed their programs: Lingyi Chi, Fengyin Sun, Pengju Zhu, and Yuqing Fang.
